Rock Cakes

A second part of my heritage that I tried to connect with through an ethnic dish was my English/British heritage. Rock cakes seem to be a kind of British scone and aren’t actually hard like rocks. Even though the recipe I chose (found here : called for currants, I chose to use orange-flavored cranberries instead. Here are some pictures from the baking process:

As with the Soda Bread, making these Rock cakes didn’t do much to connect me to anything. These ones did come out pretty good (if I do say so myself) but that didn’t help connect me to British culture in any way.
